Why do I need a lawyer? And why should I choose KAP Law Firm?

How can I grant a power of attorney?
To officially represent you in Lebanese courts or in any official Lebanese capacities, a formal power of attorney is essential.
If you’re in Lebanon: The power of attorney needs to be notarized by a Notary Public. This document should specify all the rights and privileges you intend to grant us to act on your behalf.
If you’re outside Lebanon: Initiate a power of attorney in your respective country. Ensure it is notarized and then get it legalized by the Lebanese Consulate Office. A copy of our ID will be necessary. Once you send us the document via DHL, we’ll proceed to get it legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Subsequently, the original copy will be registered at the office of the Notary Public.
How long does it take to litigate a case? And what is the average cost?
Civil litigation is a complex process that often extends beyond a year. However, the duration can vary significantly, as many cases are resolved during the course of the lawsuit itself. When a case involves numerous parties, it may necessitate longer court time. Various factors come into play, and it’s important to note that each judge manages a vast caseload spanning diverse legal matters.
As for the cost, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. Every case is unique, and costs can vary. A thorough review of the details and documents pertaining to your specific situation is essential for us to provide an accurate estimate.
What can I do if I'm unsatisfied with the performance of a lawyer? Can I hire a new one?
Yes, if you encounter issues or are dissatisfied with your current lawyer, you have the right to consider seeking representation from a different attorney. There’s a process to be followed in such situations:
- Approach your current lawyer and communicate your intentions to switch to a new one.
- Ensure that you settle any outstanding payments or dues with your existing lawyer.
- Once an agreement is reached, your current lawyer should return all pertinent documents related to your case.
- With the necessary documents in hand, you can proceed to engage a new attorney to represent you.
Always remember, it’s crucial to have open communication and ensure all professional obligations are met when transitioning between lawyers.
When can a lawyer disclose confidential information?
A lawyer can disclose non-privileged client information only if the client grants explicit permission to do so. Without such permission, all privileged information remains strictly confidential between the client and lawyer, ensuring it is never subject to unauthorized disclosure.
